Hi, I’m Chase Tobiassen. I’m a freshman student at Washington State University. I am 18 years old, and I . However in Vancouver, Washington which is just north of Portland, Oregon where I spent most of my free time during my youth. I never attended a brick-and-mortar school until beginning college here at WSU due to poor health. I was homeschooled for most of¬†elementary school and then began doing online schooling programs starting in middle school.

My hobbies tend to revolve around things at home, I enjoy computers and gaming, and I spend a lot of time studying. I’m a language student¬†and have been studying Japanese since my freshman year in high school, and a lot of my free time goes to practicing by talking, listening, or reading Japanese. I also hope to pick up another language here shortly and have been casually studying Korean for a few months now. I hope to be able to study foreign language as a major, however, I’m still marked as undecided as far as majors go. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find some career, perhaps teaching or translating, that will allow me to work in foreign language.

Studying foreign language and discovering new ways to express ideas is a passion of mine, and while the primary purpose of this blog is to share the content I create for COM210, I hope I’ll also be able to share stories and techniques I’ve picked up for learning a new language.
